After an exciting event at Melbourne United’s home of Hoop City, Victoria’s best shooters are close to being crowned thanks to our friends at Roll’d Vietnamese.

Over 100 young athletes from around the state came together on Sunday afternoon for a sharpshooting showcase, which ended with two final groups of three, one male and one female, to battle it out for the title of Roll’d Vietnamese 3-Point Hero.

Claire Perazzo from Keysborough Basketball Association, along with Charlotte Warrener and Madesyn Clow from Craigieburn Hammers Basketball Club, all U14s, finished as the final trio for the girls, while Zach Veneziano and Joshua Blaikie from Sandringham Sabres (U16s), as well as Ben O’Connor from Oakleigh Raptors Basketball Club (U18s) qualified for the boys final.

They will compete in the Grand Final on Sunday 16th October at John Cain Arena at half time of Melbourne United’s game against the Tasmania JackJumpers.

Up for grabs will be the mouth-watering prize of free Roll’d Vietnamese for a whole year* for the winner of each shootout! Why choose either between a fresh, healthy Soldier rice paper roll, a crunchy Banh Mi or light, fluffy Bao buns when you can have them all?!

Melbourne United Community Engagement Manager Nicola Parkinson praised all those who took part in the event for making it as exciting as it was.

“It was so great to see so many up and coming basketballers from across the state come down and take part in what was a great day of shooting,” she said.

“From Whittlesea to Craigieburn and Sunbury, it really shows how much the sport is continuing to grow, and why we prioritise bringing the community together so much at United.

*Prize is equivalent to $30 per week over 52 weeks = $1560 value.
