The NBL legend has voiced his anticipation at seeing MU’s new-look lineup on the court.

Andrew Gaze knows what it takes to have success in the NBL.

Across his illustrious career with Melbourne, Gaze won a pair of Championships, and now as a league analyst, believes United has the potential to add another banner to John Cain Arena.

Speaking on The Marketplace, Gaze broke down his thoughts on the new-look MU roster.

“This is again a Championship contending team in my opinion and I think they’ve done exceptionally well in the offseason,” he said.

“You know they’re going to be tough as hell on the defensive end and they’ve got a lot of scoring, so there’s not too much to say there’s a reason to be pessimistic.”

Gaze pointed to the addition of versatile superstar Luke Travers as a major reason for his excitement, while adding continued excellence from United’s potential Australian Boomers pairing will make the team hard to beat.

I think the signing of Luke Travers, there was a guy that was on the right trajectory recently in the Summer League, showed why he was drafted and showed why in that NBA style of play, he did not look out of place.

“Bringing back a superstar in Matthew Dellavedova, (Chris) Goulding’s got plenty more to give. A lot to like about this (team).”

As excitement builds towards the start of United’s NBL24 campaign, the time is now to lock in your seat for each and every game at John Cain Arena!
