Ahead of the start of the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 season, we are excited to unveil our Club Captains.
Chris Goulding will once again guide the team as our Captain, while Shea Ili will be joined by Kyle Bowen as Vice Captains.
Goulding enters his 11th season with the organisation; a period that has included a pair of Championship victories and three club MVP awards.
For Ili, NBL26 will be his seventh campaign with United, having won a Championship with the club, as well as a pair of NBL Best Defensive Player Awards and two club SHARE awards.
Bowen has been a pillar of consistency since joining the club for NBL24, playing in all 73 of our games across the past two seasons.
Head Coach Dean Vickerman praised the trio’s ability to live up to and champion the club’s SHARE values going into Round 1 of the new season.
“When it comes to leading from the front, I think we have the perfect group of Club Captains to drive success this season,” he explained.
“Chris (Goulding) has achieved just about everything there is in our competition, and is someone that is fueled by the want to win.
“Shea (Ili) and KB (Kyle Bowen) similarly are two guys that are only concerned with doing everything it takes to get us over the line when the final buzzer sounds.
“These guys just want to compete. They hold everything to an elite level and that’s going to help us in big moments this season.”
Our season kicks off tomorrow night in Tasmania when we face the JackJumpers from 7:30pm. Fans can tune in via Disney+ or Kayo.
Following that, we will return home for our blockbuster first home game against the New Zealand Breakers inside of John Cain Arena on Sunday afternoon from 2:30pm.
