Imports thrive in first full practice

Melbourne United’s trio of new imports have made a splash in their first full day of practice, playing with great intensity and unselfishness.
Rayjon Tucker, Xavier Rathan-Mayes and Jordan Caroline all hit the court for full-contact practice on Thursday, and brought their excitement to play with United to the floor.
Speaking to media following the practice, Caroline, who goes by ‘JC’, said he could feel the chemistry within the team immediately.

“It was a lot of fun out there. It’s one of the best first days I’ve had being part of a group, I feel like the chemistry was pretty good… I really enjoyed it,” JC said.
This was echoed by Rathan-Mayes, with the man they call ‘X’ praising Melbourne’s culture for the easy transition.
“It feels great to be part of an organisation like this with such a great culture,” X elaborated.
“To be able to come here and be a part of a family, to be able to come in here and be wanted and be welcomed is a great feeling.”
That culture played a massive part in Melbourne securing the signature of Rayjon Tucker, who touched on his excitement after experiencing the physicality of United basketball in his first full-contact session.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be here, to fully dive into the culture here and in Australia in general.
“I was expecting (the physicality). I know coming in that the biggest thing they harp on in Melbourne is the defensive aspect of the game. I expected that side of the ball to be super tough, super aggressive and super physical.”
