Triplett stronger than ever heading into second season

Following an exciting first year with Melbourne United which saw him flash his elite shooting, Zac Triplett is ready to continue growing as he heads into his sophomore campaign.

The Development Player was used sparingly across NBL21, appearing in just nine games, however that didn’t stop him absorbing the knowledge and skill he was surrounded by on a daily basis.

“It was a good development year for me, I was able to learn a lot from everyone, be a sponge and just soak as much information up as possible,” Triplett said.

“Chris Goulding has been massive for me, being behind him and asking questions whenever I need, he’s been a pretty big role model for me.”

Despite an injury to his hand that ruled the sharpshooter out for the majority of his NBL1 season with the Keilor Thunder, Triplett still managed to shine in five outings, averaging over 15 points per game.

Fully fit now, the 20-year-old said overcoming the adversity of the injury has only made him stronger, and has him more motivated for the season ahead.

“My biggest goal for the offseason was to get in the gym and really try to bulk up, put some muscle on and get stronger.

“Dealing with the injury was tough, I couldn’t do what I wanted, but I was still able to be in the gym most days, working hard on my legs and core.

“I’m fully healthy now which feels great. The buzz around the team is elite as we get close to the season. Everyone is locked in, competing hard every day at practice, ultra ready for game one come October 2.”
