Tucker, United ready to ‘handle some business’ at NBL Blitz

Following a pair of standout showings in his first two games with Melbourne United, Rayjon Tucker says he and his teammates are ready to get the job done when they head to Darwin for the Hungry Jack’s NBL Blitz.

Speaking to Dwayne Russell on the radio yesterday, ‘Tuck’ said the excitement is high within the team to head north and put on an impressive display across their three games.

“The team is excited for the Blitz, I think we're coming together super well… we’re definitely going up there to handle some business,” he said.

“I am here to do what I need to do for the team… (I’m bringing) a scoring mentality, a defensive mentality, a winning mentality, experience from what I’ve learnt from the different guys I’ve played with over the years.”

Asked about the high pressure often placed on imports within the league, paired with the championship expectations that constantly surrounds Melbourne, the American said he can’t wait to deliver for the United fans.

“We have the same aspirations for ourselves as our fans do,” he continued.

“It’s a standard within the group, we all have one goal in mind and we just take it day by day, striving to go get that goal. My main focus right now is to be here in Melbourne with my team and my guys and to handle business here… my main focus is to win games and end up holding that trophy at the end of the year.”
