United excited to embrace inclusion through Pride Game

Round 20 will not only see us return home for the first time in over a month away from John Cain Arena, it will also see the club celebrate inclusion and diversity via our Pride Game against the Adelaide 36ers.

Our CEO Nick Truelson recently took to the airwaves of JOY 94.9FM to explain why the Pride Game means so much to us as an organisation.

“I think for us, we have a club purpose around using the power of basketball to inspire, entertain and enrich the community, and we’ve got three key values, with one of them being inclusivity,” he said.

“Anytime that we can work around campaigns or themes to actually be able to tell stories and offer an inclusive environment at our games, it’s something that we’re really passionate about.

“(The Pride Game) is about everyone understanding that everyone should have the opportunity to be who they are.

“This is my fifth year being involved in basketball, and the best thing about it is how inclusive the game is, and how welcoming it is for everybody who wants to come along.”

For the game, we will be wearing our new Pride Round uniforms, which feature a representation of the Progress Pride Flag surrounding our iconic UNITED wordmark.

Tickets to the game are nearly sold out, so get in quick to secure your seat!
