White excited to watch new pieces take the court

Over the course of his college and professional career, Jack White has played with some absolute superstars.

In college at Duke University, White played alongside 19 different future NBA players, before making his way to Melbourne United, where he shared the court with league superstars like Jock Landale, Chris Goulding, Matthew Dellavedova and Jo Lual-Acuil Jr.

If that wasn’t enough, he then went on to join the eventual NBA Champion Denver Nuggets, positioning himself next to some of the world’s best in Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

This, combined with his experience representing Australia on the international stage, has allowed him to see elite talent; something he sees in spades when he looks at Melbourne United’s NBL24 lineup.

Speaking on The Extra Pass podcast, White voiced his excitement to watch United hit the court this upcoming season.

“Mate, I’m super pumped,” he told hosts Adam Ballinger and Ben Hopkins.

I’ve been a fan of LT (Luke Travers) for a long time, a super young versatile talented player that’s only been getting better and better.

“He can affect the game on both ends, I felt like he did a really good job of showing that during Summer League… I’m a big fan of Luke and it’s been awesome spending a bit of time with him in Melbourne.

“Another guy I’m super excited for is Big A (Ariel Hukporti) coming back from the achilles. We were teammates for a bit and I’ve got a soft spot for him seeing him go down with the achilles and trying to help him out keeping him in a good headspace because I know how difficult it can be.

“Just seeing how he’s come back has been unbelievable, he’s unreal, he’s smashed it… he’s moving great and he’s in good spirits, his personality is one that lifts a room up.

“Tanner (Krebs) coming in, I don’t think I’ve seen Tanner miss a shot in two weeks. I’ve played with Tanner for years, since we were teenagers, he’s a great guy, I think he’s going to be great for the culture and the team.

Then you talk about guys we’ve got coming back… Delly (Matthew Dellavedova), CG (Chris Goulding), Shili (Shea Ili), Newls (Brad Newley), Jo (Lual-Acuil Jr), I could go on and on… I’m just super excited to see what the team can do.”

White enjoyed two weeks of matching up alongside and going against United’s stars while he prepared for the Australian Boomers FIBA World Cup training camp.

Taking place in Cairns currently, White, as well as Goulding and Dellavedova, are hoping to secure their spots on the Boomers 12-man squad.

With so much excitement surrounding United’s squad heading into NBL24, the time is now to lock in your seat and Bring The Blue.
