Incoming Nominated Replacement Player (NRP) Rob Loe will enjoy a familiar feeling when he joins the group at Melbourne United, despite having never played for the club.
Not only will the 31-year-old Kiwi reunite with Head Coach Dean Vickerman, who worked with Loe when has was a teenager in the NZ Breakers Academy, but also former Tall Blacks teammates Shea Ili and Flynn Cameron.
Speaking to MU Media, United’s newest addition touched on his excitement ahead of hitting the court alongside his fellow New Zealanders.

“Growing up Dean was an assistant with the Breakers while I was in the academy there in high school so I got to work with him a little bit then,” he said.
“Being on the other side against him for the past seven years in the NBL, he’s one of the best if not the best coaches in the league so this is a really good opportunity to work with him.
“I’ve played a lot of basketball with and against Shea ever since we played against each other in high school.
“Any chance I get to play with him is exciting, he’s an amazing talent, it’s really fun to be his teammate.
“Flynn I’ve gotten to experience recently with the Tall Blacks and I think his game is just going from strength to strength. Just to see what he’s like in a professional setting will be awesome.
“But it’s not just about them, I’ve played against a lot of the lads in this group for quite a few years now, we’ve had some workouts together and it’s going to be great to be teammates with such an exciting group.”
With so much anticipation surrounding United, the time is now to make sure you’re in attendance at John Cain Arena when their campaign kicks off on September 28 against the SEM Phoenix.
