The star shooter helped his side to its best finish in a decade

Following the completion of another All-NBL season, Chris Goulding took his pursuit of excellence overseas, heading to Puerto Rico for a stint with Cangrejeros de Santurce.

Despite his amassing over 450 games of NBL experience, the sharpshooter’s trip to the other side of the globe presented not just an opportunity to continue playing high-level basketball, but also the chance to learn within a new competitive environment.

Goulding touched on how valuable experiences like his time in Puerto Rico can be for teams wanting to continually get better.

“It’s always positive when you can get to a new club or environment and see how things are done,” he explained.

“Compare that to how we go about things, see if there’s anything we can improve on, or things that we’re doing really well.

“It’s always good to have new experiences and add that to the knowledge that you accumulate along the way and see if it can translate to help us in any way.”

Goulding and his teammates are continuing to progress through their preseason leading into our opening night matchup with the Tasmania JackJumpers on 18 September, and our return to John Cain Arena on 21 September from 2:30pm against the New Zealand Breakers.
