Melbourne United’s captain will remain with the club through to the end of the NBL27 season

Melbourne United is excited to announce that Chris Goulding has penned a contract extension with the club for a further two seasons on top of his current deal, keeping him with MU until the end of NBL27.

Coming off perhaps the greatest three-point shooting season in the history of the NBL, Goulding will look to once again lead Melbourne deep into the playoffs as the team hopes to contend for a championship.

“I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” he told Melbourne United Media.

“This is our home, we’ve been here for a long time so the ability to be staying here with the club for another two years is something that myself and my family are excited about.

“All I want to do is bring more success to the club. Being here with our fans and feeling their support is unbelievable. The way the club is having us play in front of sold out crowds each week is everything you wish for as a basketball player.”

Across NBL24, CG43 shattered a number of records, including most three-pointers in a season within the 40-minute era (140), most three-pointers in a Championship Series (21) and most three-pointers in Championship Series games all-time (63).

The expert marksman also moved further up the list for most three-pointers in NBL history, passing Brett Maher, Anthony Stewart, Tony Ronaldson and Derek Rucker to ascend into 6th.

Heading into Free Agency, Goulding is joined by Matthew Dellavedova, Shea Ili, Luke Travers, Kyle Bowen, Tanner Krebs and Flynn Cameron as fully contracted players for NBL25.
