CG43 finished with 27 points in the 53-point victory

Chris Goulding’s offensive explosion has helped the Australian Boomers to a huge victory against Thailand in the first FIBA Asia Cup Qualifier of the November window.

Playing in front of a raucous crowd in Bangkok, the home side pulled out to an early lead, however Goulding’s long-range shooting ability, combined with a lockdown defensive effort across the final three quarters, saw the Boomers cruise to a comfortable victory.

CG43 connected on seven of his first eight three-point attempts in 12 minutes before ultimately finishing with 27 points and nine triples. The nine threes is a new Continental Cup Qualifiers record.

The win also saw Kyle Bowen play his first minutes in a Boomers jersey. He logged 15 minutes, pulled down 15 rebounds and dished out three assists.

United assistant coach Jacob Chance also recorded his first win as Boomers Head Coach.

Elsewhere in Asia, Flynn Cameron and the New Zealand Tall Blacks fell by four points to the Philippines.

Cameron scored two points in 10 minutes of action.
