Goulding, XRM star in pair of victories

In just his second game with Paris Basketball, Chris Goulding has showcased exactly why the team brought him in to close the season.

Playing against cross-town rivals Nanterre, CG43 shined as he entered the starting lineup, scoring 15 points and sinking five three-pointers.

His shooting helped push Paris towards the victory, lifting the team into 12th on the table and sending the home fans wild.

Speaking after the game, Goulding said he had been looking forward to the game, and wants to continue doing all he can to get this team wins.

“It was definitely a game I was looking forward to… To have that as my second game on our home court and to have the fans come out like they did, it was special,” he said.

“There’s still so much for me to learn as far as what we do. I’ve only been here one week, but games like that help because you figure some things out, figure some things out about your teammates in a tough game so yeah, it’s really pleasing.

“I’m just here to help out however it is, if it’s on the court for 30 minutes tonight, great. If it’s 10 minutes, if it’s five, whatever it is, I just want to contribute to winning.”

Elsewhere in Europe, Xavier Rathan-Mayes put together his best performance with his new team, tallying 24 points and seven assists for Merkezefendi in the Turkish League.

XRM led all scorers for his side in the much needed win, as Merkezefendi now sits just one game out of the top eight in the league standings.
