Trio come out firing in Europe

Written by Melbourne United Media

The trio of Chris Goulding, Xavier Rathan-Mayes and Marcus Lee all took to the court in Europe over the weekend.

Having only arrived in Paris a few days prior to making his debut, Goulding had a quiet game by his standard, finishing with six points, which included a brilliant four-point-play, in a loss to Strasbourg.

Like Goulding, Xavier Rathan-Mayes was unable to lead his new side to victory, with Merkezefendi going down against Buyukcekmece 81-89.

XRM did his best to fill the stat sheet, tallying seven points, five rebounds and four assists.

United’s lone NBL23 player able to pick up a win was Marcus Lee, who anchored Pallacanestro Reggiana inside and helped put a stop to the side’s four-game losing streak.

Lee was a menace across much of the contest, slamming home dunks and sending away shots on his way to nine points, eight rebounds and four blocks in the 80-62 win over Napoli.
