Anthony vows to ‘put my body on the line’ ahead of preseason debut

Less than a week into his time in Australia, star import Cole Anthony is ready to do whatever it takes to help Melbourne United succeed.

Taking part in his first five-on-five scrimmage since touching down on Monday, Anthony showcased his ability to defend at a high level and fight for extra possessions, while injecting energy on the offensive end with his speed and strength.

With the aim of playing in our next preseason game; a battle against the Cairns Taipans on Saturday evening inside Casey Stadium, the American guard touched on how it felt competing in United colours for the first time, and his anticipation ahead of his potential preseason debut.

“Oh, man, it (scrimmaging on Monday) was pretty fun. 

“This was my first time getting to get some bumping with everybody today, and it felt pretty good. We’ve got a talented group. 

“It was fun to get some bump with Josh (Oduro), LT (Luke Travers), you know, those two talented dudes I was excited to play with coming in… (we’re) working some kinks out, but we're going to be all right. 

“Im here to put my body on the line for the team… I think we have a group that could play at a high level.

“I'm excited to get on the court with these guys. I know we got (a game) next Saturday. I'll be here grinding until then.”
