Kyle Bowen has come close to recording one of the rarest stat lines in basketball in Sandringham’s 110-102 victory over the Bendigo Braves in the NBL1 South.
The forward finished the contest with 24 points, 12 rebounds, five steals, four assists and four blocks, falling just short of the elusive 5x5.
This amazing effort, along with strong performances from Malith Machar (21 points) and Shea Ili (12 points) lifted the Sabres to a second straight win.
Sandringham will need to finish the final three rounds with force if they hope to qualify for finals, with the team currently sitting in 10th on the table.
Fighting for a top-two spot in the South are Christian D’Angelo and Tom Wilson, who each picked up wins for Nunawading and Melbourne respectively.
D’Angelo tallied 44 points across his two games, while Wilson scored 22 in a win over Dandenong.
In the East, Fabijan Krslovic’s 17-point, 10 rebound double-double wasn’t enough for Norths, who fell by a point to the Bankstown Bruins.
Krslovic and the Bears remain in first place on the ladder despite the defeat.
