With five rounds remaining in the NBL1 South regular season, two of Melbourne United’s stars are doing all they can to try and secure a top spot on the ladder.
Tom Wilson (14 points, six assists, four steals) put together a solid performance for the Melbourne Tigers on Saturday afternoon, helping the team to a 77-63 win over Eltham, while Christian D’Angelo (20 points, eight rebounds, 5.5 assists) split his pair of outings with Nunawading, winning against Waverley before going down to first-placed Knox.
The Tigers and Spectres sit second and third respectively on the table.
Currently out of a finals spot are the Sandringham Sabres, who fell short on Saturday evening against the Keilor Thunder.
Malith Machar (23 points) led the way for the Sabres, while Shea Ili (11 points, four assists) and Kyle Bowen (14 rebounds, eight points) contributed well.
In the NBL1 East, Fabijan Krslovic (16 points, nine rebounds, six assists, four steals) filled up the stat as the Norths Bears picked up a six-point victory over Penrith.
After 14 games, the Bears sit second in the conference with a 12-2 record.
