Goulding ready for every team’s best shot

As we look to continue building on our nine-game winning streak, so too do other teams pine to be the first team to hand us a loss this season.

Chris Goulding, who has been a part of both the club’s longest winning streak to start a season (nine games) and longest ever winning streak (11 games), knows this feeling well, and says the group is continuing to do whatever it can to keep improving.

Speaking on 3AW Wide World of Sport last night, the NBL legend broke down how he views the scenario.

“The reality of it is there’s teams at different stages of their journey throughout this NBL season,” he said.

“We’ve got off to a hot start, and there’s teams that are going to get hot at different points of the year... Every team wants to be the first to beat us, so it’s about how we can approach games with a mindset that’s going to keep us aggressive, focussed, and trying to extend this thing out as long as we can.”

Coming off our closest game to date; a thrilling one-point win over the Adelaide 36ers at home, Goulding believes he and the rest of the group can achieve even more.

“We didn’t play amazingly, and we were able to come out with a hard-fought win.

“I think we take a lot of confidence in that, knowing that if we’re playing our best, we’re going to be tough to beat.”

Fans will get their next opportunity to see the team hit the court this Monday, Melbourne Cup Eve, from 8pm against the Sydney Kings.

Tickets to the blockbuster game remain available here.
