Across his three seasons with Melbourne United, Tanner Krebs has been one of the league’s winningest players.
The sharpshooter amassed 68 wins across our past three campaigns, equal-second among all NBL players with teammate Kyle Bowen.
Looking at the NBL26 season, Krebs said while the team fell short of our ultimate goal, there is still much to be proud of.
“Obviously it started fantastic, 9-0, 13-2, (we were) on top of the world and then obviously it didn't go to plan, but at the end of the day that sport,” he explained.
“The connections we made as a group and all the adversities we went through definitely made us stronger and unfortunately (while) we fell short of our goal which I think we definitely had the capabilities of making, but this time round we just couldn't do it.
“A lot to be proud of as a group and definitely a season I will remember for sure.”
Stepping into a starting role at different points this season, Krebs put up some of the best numbers of his career, averaging career highs in three-pointers made and rebounds, while also scoring a career-best 29 points in Round 11.
The forward was also able to stay on the court, extending his consecutive game streak to 108, the longest (along with Bowen) in the competition.
Having come to United to continue growing his game and work on his body, Krebs touched on what it meant to be able to remain healthy and contribute to winning, regardless of the role he was asked to play.
“Some injuries plagued the group throughout the year so roles changed with everyone and I was no exception,” he said.
“I think I just wanted to win and help this team succeed and whatever was needed from me on a nightly basis I was happy to do so really. I appreciated the opportunity to start some games and play a bigger role in the group, and I'm really proud of the efforts I put in when I was in those positions.
“The reason I came to this club was because the resources were gonna put me and my body in the best position to play at a high level and play consecutive games.
“I'm very fortunate and appreciative of the staff here who've put in a lot of time and effort to make sure that I can go out and perform at a higher level consistently.
“I'm very proud of myself for reaching that milestone, but also I'm just very thankful for everyone involved that has helped me get to that stage.”
