Off-season Games Wrap: Krebs scorches Geelong

Tanner Krebs has built on his elite scoring campaign in the NBL1 South over the weekend, catching fire against Geelong United to help Sandringham pick up an important victory.

Without MU teammate Shea Ili, Krebs took it upon himself to fuel the Sabres, outscoring Geelong in the first quarter on his own (21-19).

The star wing ultimately finished with 33 points and 13 rebounds. United Development Player Tom Koppens also chipped in with seven points and 11 rebounds.

Elsewhere in the conference, Kyle Bowen and his Knox Raiders fell short in both their games, with each going to overtime.

Crossing the ditch, Rob Loe and the Tuatara cruised to their sixth-straight win, this time against the Manawatu Jets by 38 points. The result propelled Auckland into first place in the NZNBL.

Flynn Cameron’s Taranaki Airs couldn’t continue their winning streak, splitting their pair of games against Canerbury (83-86 loss) and Southland (102-78 win).
