Melbourne United NBL1 Recap: Finals

Written by Melbourne United Media

A collection of United’s stars remain in the running for an NBL1 title, let’s see how they went over the weekend!

Malith Machar - Forestville

United’s newest DP gave his all on the weekend to help set Forestville up for a Preliminary Final matchup with South Adelaide.

Machar came off the bench to score 14 points and pull down five rebounds against Norwood, setting up the do-or-die matchup with the Panthers.

David Okwera - Sandringham

It was a difficult game for the Sabres, who were missing club MVP Shea Ili to national team duties.

David Okwera pushed hard to give Sandringham a boost, but ultimately went down to the Chargers in Hobart.

The Sabres will next play against the Frankston Blues in a must-win semi-final.

David Barlow - Sandringham

Looking to lead his group without Shea Ili, Barlow fought hard for Sandringham as they made the trip to Tasmania.

Despite going down by 18 points, the captain/coach finished as a team-best -1, and did his best to keep the Sabres in fighting distance.
