Offseason Games Wrap: Bowen double-double not enough for Sabres

Kyle Bowen has tallied another double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) in the NBL1 South for the Sandringham Sabres over the weekend against the Frankston Blues.

Despite this, as well as strong performances from Malith Machar (17 points) and Shea Ili (15 points), the Sabres went down on the road by four points.

The loss dropped Sandringham into ninth place on the ladder ahead of a matchup with the Keilor Thunder, who sit in eighth, at home on Saturday 13 June.

Tom Wilson (26 points) and the Melbourne Tigers also fell short, falling to Casey by eight points.

Internationally, Jesse Edward’s time with Baskonia in the Spanish ACB has come to an end following a 2-1 series defeat to Joventut.

Across his 17 games, Edwards averaged 4.1 points and 3.0 rebounds in just over 11 minutes per game.
