Former championship teammates to face off in must win Boomers clash

Australia’s final group game of the FIBA World Cup will be a do-or-die affair following their loss to Germany on Sunday evening.

Chris Goulding and the Boomers will face off against former Melbourne United championship winner Yudai Baba and Japan from 9:10pm Tuesday.

Baba, who played 46 games for United across NBL21 and NBL22, has been a strong contributor for Japan this tournament, averaging 10 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.

Melbourne United's pair of stars playing for New Zealand, Shea Ili and Flynn Cameron, will also take to the court tonight against Jordan from 6:45pm.

If the Tall Blacks wish to keep their hopes of progressing to the second round alive, the matchup is a must win.
