Goulding, Ili, Cameron flying MU flag at FIBA World Cup

As the FIBA World Cup starts tonight with Australia’s clash with Finland, here is everything you need to know in order to follow how United’s stars are travelling throughout the tournament.

Australia - Chris Goulding

Appearing in his third consecutive World Cup, Chris Goulding will once again look to provide elite shooting for Australia.

Goulding went to work in the Boomers’ final warm-up game against Georgia, scoring 13 points while sinking a trio of three pointers.

With hopes of medaling at the tournament high, all eyes will be on Goulding and Australia across their first three group-stage games.

New Zealand - Shea Ili and Flynn Cameron

Also representing MU on the world stage will be Kiwi duo Shea Ili and Flynn Cameron.

Cameron, who is appearing in his first World Cup, has been a standout for the Tall Blacks across their games leading into the tournament, averaging over 10 points per night in six games.

For Ili, this will be his second time representing his country at the World Cup. Coming off a disrupted NBL23 campaign, the dynamo guard has looked stronger than ever in the lead up to their opening game.

Placed in what some have called this year’s ‘Group of Death’ alongside the USA, Greece and Jordan, New Zealand will look to shock some pundits who have counted them out of progressing to the Second Round.
