‘Unreal’ Goulding set to hit another huge milestone

Over his time with Melbourne United, Chris Goulding has set records in nearly every statistical category.
Outside of winning two championships with the club, the Tasmanian-born superstar leads United in total points, three-pointers, free-throws, assists and steals.
Also the leader in games played, Goulding will bring up his 250th game for United this Sunday when Melbourne host Brisbane at John Cain Arena from 2pm.
Having coached him for the vast majority of his time with MU, Dean Vickerman spoke about what the sharpshooter means to this club.

“He’s the face of our club. If I’m a fan of basketball, I’m someone that wants to turn up to a game and see him play because his skill level is so high,” he said.
“As a leader at this club I get to talk about him a lot because he’s going to continue to chip off milestones.
“Whatever he does is going to be something for others to try and catch, whether that be making threes, games played, assists, he’s a leader in so many areas.
“We’re all just talking about him and how high a level he’s been able to sustain for a period of time and to see him possibly go up another level this year is an amazing feat.”
Until NBL24, one player who had had to compete with Goulding’s continued brilliance was Luke Travers, who enjoyed frequent battles with United when he was a member of the Perth Wildcats.
Now teammates, Travers praised Goulding’s ability as a leader on the league’s first-placed team.

“It’s unreal,” he said of Goulding’s ability.
“Obviously you hear about it when you first come in but to see it first hand, he’s an unbelievable leader, as well as a world-class shooter and scorer.
“It’s been really fun to share the court with him. Hopefully we can do some really special things in the future.”
