Melbourne United forward Kyle Bowen has claimed the NBL1’s greatest prize over the weekend, winning Finals MVP of the National Championship game with the Knox Raiders.
Having gained automatic qualification of the National Championship tournament after winning the event last season, Bowen, alongside NBL24 teammate Malith Machar, led the Raiders to a trio of victories to secure a second-straight National title.
In his first game, Bowen tallied 20 points as Knox ran away from Maitland late, while in his second outing, the second-year star scored 12 points in a 24-point demolition of Eltham.
Saving his best until last, the bruising forward was near perfect in the Grand Final matchup, finishing with 24 points, 25 rebounds, three steals and two blocks against Mackay to bring home the huge W.
Bowen ended the season leading Knox in rebounds, steals and plus/minus.
Following the successful weekend, he wasted no time getting back to work with United, returning to Hoop City on Monday as the team continues its preseason preparation.
