Clutch shot-making nothing new for Doyle

Across his time in the NBL, Milton Doyle has established himself as one of the league’s premier big-shot makers.
The 193cm guard is a constant threat to produce down the stretch of games with his ability to work off the dribble to get to the hoop or step back and knock down a three-pointer.
Speaking to Melbourne United Media, Doyle said he’s always thrived in big moments, and can’t wait to produce more of them in NBL26.
“I think I’ve been doing it my entire life since I picked up a basketball,” he explained.
“Growing up my favourite player was Kobe Bryant and that is what he was known for, taking the tough shots and game winners.
“When you’re a kid shooting on the court outside by yourself, you’re focussed on that shot, not just a regular shot during a game, you’re focussed on the game winner.
“My mindset is every shot is the same, but when that time comes, there’s no pressure, it’s something I’ve been doing my whole life, so I enjoy that moment.”

Now with United, Doyle is set to take the court alongside new backcourt running mates Shea Ili and Chris Goulding.
Looking ahead, the Chicago native said he’s excited to have the star pair on his side for the first time.
“It’s going to be fun not getting picked up full court by Ili and CG not hitting tough threes in my face all the time,” he laughed.
“Now I get to be on the same team as them and facilitate a little bit for CG and pick up the pace with Ili and get some open looks too.”
