The All-NBL star is gearing up for another huge campaign in NBL26

It hasn’t taken long for import guard Milton Doyle to settle into his new environment of Melbourne ahead of the NBL26 season.

Less than a week after touching down, the American guard has been competing hard alongside his new teammates as they prepare for their first two preseason games next week.

Speaking after practice, Doyle touched on what it’s been like acclimatising to the Melbourne United system.

“It’s been fun, just getting on the court with the guys, learning the system and how everyone plays. We’ve been competing hard, pushing each other to get ready for this season,” he explained.

“Having played in this league for the past three years, you learn people from scout, but when you actually share the court with them, you see things from a whole different viewpoint.

“We’re geling well. It’s been fun to get a better understanding of why guys do what they do, how they get to their spots, and how they like to get the ball.”

With a clear directive from coaching staff to play faster, Doyle is confident in the team's ability to get on and down with pace.

“We have bigs that can run the floor well, then our guards are quick, Tyson and Shea are lightning quick, and our wings work well to get up threes. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun playing this way, we’ve got the team to do it.”

Fans will get their first taste of the new-look lineup next week on Thursday 21 August at Casey Basketball Stadium when we face off against the Cairns Taipans from 6:30pm.

Tickets are selling fast, so get in quick to secure your seat.
