Goulding, Wembanyama to clash in do-or-die final game

Melbourne United star Chris Goulding is set to clash with the presumptive #1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft in a must-win match-up next for Paris Basketball.

Goulding helped Paris to a crucial win over JL Bourg-en-Bresse overnight, lifting the side into the eighth and final playoff spot with one round remaining in the French Pro A season.

CG43 tallied six points, one rebound, one assist and one steal in 19 minutes, finishing as +7 in the four-point victory.

The win sets up a blockbuster clash with one of the most talked about basketball players on the planet in 19-year-old French phenom Victor Wembanyama.

Standing at 7’4, Wembanyama has been described as perhaps the best NBA Draft prospect since LeBron James.

The towering teenager leads the French league in points (21.8), rebounds (10.3) and blocks (3.1) per game.

Goulding’s Paris will face Wembanyama’s Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans 92 next Wednesday at 4am AEST.
