Offseason Games Wrap: Edwards, Baskonia rolling ahead of Playoffs

Jesse Edwards is playing his role perfectly as he and Baskonia charge towards the postseason in the Spanish ACB.

The big man helped Baskonia to a pair of wins, one of which came against Murcia as the two sides fight for a potential top-two seed in the Playoffs.

Across the two games, Edwards averaged nine points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. He will next face first-placed Real Madrid.

It was a less successful week of games for Sam Waardenburg, as his Indios went down twice before Puerto Rico’s BSN took a break for the league’s All-Star weekend.

In the NBL1 South, Tom Wilson and the Melbourne Tigers jumped into first place on the back of his huge 32-point, eight-assist, four-steal effort against Ballarat on the road.

In doing so, he leapfrogged Christian D’Angelo (12 points, seven rebounds) and the Nunawading Spectres, who had their winning streak ended by Casey.

The Sandringham trio of Shea Ili (six points, three assists, three rebounds), Kyle Bowen (17 points, six rebounds, two blocks) and Malith Machar (21 points, two blocks) secured an important victory in front of their home crowd, beating Ringwood by nine points to bring their record back to 5-5.

In the East, Fabijan Krslovic (21 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two blocks) and the Norths Bears cruised to another comfortable win, beating Central Coast by 17 points.
