Goulding named captain for NBL27 campaign

Melbourne United star Chris Goulding has been appointed as the club’s captain ahead of the team's first game of the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 season.

Entering his 12th season with the club, Goulding was voted by his peers to lead from the front, which is a testament to the hard work he displays every day.

Head Coach Jacob Chance broke down what makes Goulding such a valuable asset leading into his first campaign at the helm of an NBL club.

“Chris is someone that lives our values every day,” Chance said.

“From the moment he steps inside the building, he is doing whatever he can to make he and his teammates better, whether that’s in the weightroom, on the court, or in the huddle.

“His work ethic lifts those around him because when you see someone putting in the time and effort that he does, it inspires you to do the same.

“Off the court, he’s an amazing ambassador for our club and our game with his work in the community and media.”

Goulding will be supported by United’s collection of veteran voices, such as Shea Ili and Joe Ingles, as well as emerging leaders in Kyle Bowen and Fabijan Krslovic.
