Goulding lifts Paris to pair of crucial victories

Melbourne United Captain Chris Goulding has played a huge role in a pair of important victories for Paris Basketball in the French Pro A League.

Paris, who are looking to make a late push into the playoffs, picked up wins over Fos Provence on Thursday and Limoges CSP on Sunday to improve their record to 13-15 with six games remaining.

CG43 scored 8 points against Fos Provence before going off in his next outing, scoring 21 points in 17 minutes, including five three-point makes.

Elsewhere in Europe, Marcus Lee tallied 12 points and seven rebounds for Pallacanestro Reggiana in a win over Varese while Xavier Rathan-Mayes and Merkezefendi came up short against Be?ikta?.

XRM put up five rebounds, five assists and two points.

Closer to home in the NBL1, Brad Newley (17 points) took home bragging rights against United training player Campbell Blogg (12 points, six rebounds, five steals) on Thursday evening, as Frankston downed Sandrngham by 24 points.

In the Central Conference, Malith Machar and the Forestville Eagles continued their undefeated start to the year, thumping Eastern Mavericks by 34 points.

Machar finished with 17 points, six rebounds and two blocks.
