Goulding moves into fourth all-time in three-point makes

The full extravagance of Chris Goulding’s shooting ability was on display last night.

Playing game number 464, CG43 connected on a career-high 10 three-pointers, the last of which came with 0.9 seconds remaining to win the game on the road in New Zealand.

In the process of his match-winning effort, Goulding moved past CJ Bruton for fourth all-time in long range makes in NBL history.

Goulding’s 1,267 three-pointers are over 500 more than any other player in the 40-minute era, and positions him behind only John Rillie (1,323), Shane Heal (1,602) and Andrew Gaze (1,826).

What makes this so impressive however is the fact that Goulding has spent close to 90 hours less on court than Rillie and Heal, and nearly 200 less than Gaze across the course of his career.

This season, Goulding is doing something never seen in the NBL, knocking down triples at a higher rate than anyone ever has at volume in league history.

Goulding is currently averaging one three-pointer made every 7.01 minutes, which tops the previous mark set by John Roberson (7.51) in NBL20.
