Melbourne United Head Coach Dean Vickerman has delivered some good news ahead of the team's first game this weekend against the Kings in Sydney.
While Captain Chris Goulding will miss the opening contest, Vickerman says the sharpshooter is recovering well from his hamstring injury.
“The message from the physio this morning is that he’s ahead of schedule already after a couple of days,” Vickerman said.
All of Melbourne is pulling for CG43 to be fit in time for United’s first home game, a Throwdown against South East Melbourne Phoenix on December 12, however Vickerman says the team will remain cautious ahead of his return.
“It’s really early in the season, we certainly wouldn’t want to bring him back too early. If he’s ready to go, we’ll bring him back as soon as the physio allows us.”
Tickets for United’s first three home games are on sale now.
