Sam Waardenburg has wasted no time in showcasing his skill to the Melbourne United fans after signing his new contract, putting together a dominant three-game stretch in Puerto Rico.
Across his last three games, Waardenburg averaged 24.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, four assists and 1.3 steals per game, while knocking down 12 threes at a 50% clip.
This included a season-high 30-point performance in an 11-point win over Mets de Guaynabo and former United import, Devin Williams.
Elsewhere overseas, Milton Doyle had one of his best games for Napoli, tallying 26 points in a 10-point victory against Trento, while Jesse Edwards (seven points, one rebound) and Baskonia fell short in their battle with Barcelona.
Back home in the NBL1, Our NBL26 stars put together some big-time performances.
Tom Wilson led the Melbourne Tigers to a pair of wins, taking down Ringwood (34 points, six assists, six rebounds) and Kilsyth (16 points, five assists, four rebounds) on back-to-back nights.
Tanner Krebs was able to do the same, heading back to his home-state of Tasmania to beat both Hobart (19 points, seven rebounds, three assists) and the Northern Force (Six points, three assists, two rebounds), improving Casey’s record to 3-3.
Still missing Malith Machar, Sandringham couldn’t overcome Knox, despite a 19-point game from Kyle Bowen.
Christian D’Angelo (27 points) connected on five triples in his first game since becoming a Melbourne United player, helping Nunawading to a 17-point road win against Bendigo. He also suited up for the NBL1 Select Team in their win over the Chinese U18 team on Monday evening.
In the East, Fabijan Krslovic and the Norths Bears experienced their first loss of the season, dropping their matchup with the Illawarra Hawks (17 points, four rebounds), despite winning their fifth-straight game earlier in the round against Sydney (14 points, nine rebounds, 2 blocks).
