Walker focussed on perfecting ‘the little things’ ahead of HoopsFest

Eager to reverse our recent form, Tyson Walker spoke to the media today ahead of our HoopsFest matchup against the Tasmania JackJumpers on Saturday 17 January.

Having lost twice in the past month to the JackJumpers, Walker explained what the team is focussed on ahead of the top-six clash.

“Just getting back to what was helping us win,” he said.

“Doing all the little things. You know, just our energy overall and just playing winning basketball, limiting the turnovers and mistakes…

“Winning in all extra aspects of the game, you know, loose balls, rebounds, and just trying to control the game as much as possible.”

With eight games remaining and lots of potential ladder movement before the start of the finals, Walker said the group remains locked in on getting better every day.

“(We’re going to) keep progressing. Can't get too bogged down on a loss, still got a season to finish. Still got a bunch of games and we could turn the tide.”

Across his last six games, Walker is averaging 16.7 points, 5.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game.

Fans can tune in to watch Walker and his teammates in Perth from 9:30pm on Saturday night on ESPN.
