Tom Wilson and Christian D’Angelo have had one of the battles of the season in the NBL1 South.
With Wilson’s Melbourne Tigers and D’Angelo’s Nunawading Spectres fighting for seeding atop of the conference table, the matchup carried major importance.
Wilson was spectacular in the scoring department, finishing with a season-high 40 points, however it was D’Angelo (20 points) who took home the victory following a last second make from one of his teammates.
The result dropped the Tigers out of first place, while lifting Nunawading into third.
In the East, Fabijan Krslovic and the Norths Bears collected a 13-point win, thanks in part to his 13 point, 13 rebound double-double.
Internationally, Jesse Edwards and Baskonia have continued to roll, picking up two more victories to bring their winning streak to six games ahead of the start of the Playoffs.
Since joining the team, Edwards has helped the Spanish club to a 11-3 record, and a three-seed for the postseason. They will face Joventut in the opening round.
